DIPLOMA IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

This is a hands-on course equipping students with the knowledge and skills to manage and lead in the field of occupational safety and health. Students will be taught to identify and manage potential safety hazard and leadership skills to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To provide knowledge and practical skills on best practices and applications related to occupational safety and health.
  • To create opportunities for career development in the field of occupational safety and health in construction-related organizations, oil and gas, manufacturing, services and hospitality industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • SPM or equivalent with PASS in Bahasa Malaysia and English and THREE (3) credits in the following subject:
    – Mathematics and ONE (1) science subject ( Biology / Physics / Chemistry /  General science ); and 
    – Any other ONE (1) subject including Bahasa Malaysia and / or English
    OR
  • GCE/O Level or equivalent with PASS in Bahasa Malaysia and English and THREE (3) credits (Grade C) in the following subject
    – Mathematics or ONE (1) science subject ( Biology / Physics / Chemistry /  General science ); and
    – Any other TWO (2) subjects including Bahasa Malaysia and / or English
    OR
    – Certificate related to Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.50

COURSE MODE AND DURATION

  • This is a full-time course.
  • The Duration is 2½ years covering 7 semesters.
  • Overall covers 92 credits hours.
  • Evaluation is done through assignments, quizzes, group work, laboratory work, tutorials, test, exams and final year papers.
  • The programme will be conducted by experienced and qualified lecturers from relevant fields.
